Engine and Performance
Going up the trim levels, the new GMC Acadia SLE, the lowest trim level, comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turboengine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Beginning with the SLT, a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission is available and then becomes standard on the AT4 and Denali trims. The engine and transmission on the top trim, the Denali, offers 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
The lowest trim tows up to 3,500 pounds, while the top trim tows up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
The smaller engine on the GMC Acadia SLE with front-wheel drive achieves an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, while its all-wheel has the same city fuel economy but slightly less on the highway, which the EPA estimates at 27 mpg.
